Our Story

One October evening, we were eager to capture an epic fall photo, so we embarked on a trail in the mountains of Southeast Kentucky.  What started as an enjoyable, easy-paced ascent up the mountain took an unexpected turn when, rounding a bend, a majestic bear emerged on the trail. Time seemed to stand still as the wilderness asserted its dominance, transforming the serene hike into a brisk descent, as the bear chose to ascend the hill.

 The story unfolded at a local pub, over two bourbon pours and the rhythmic beat of our hearts.  Recounting the encounter to anyone who would listen, the idea took root – Hey Bear Outdoors was born.  A brand that embodies the untamed, the unpredictable, and the awe-inspiring moments that nature gifts us.
